The University of Kentucky has been awarded a prestigious Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) grant to study central nervous system metabolism from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The $10.6 million, five-year grant will fund UK鈥檚 Center of Research in Central Nervous System Metabolism (CNS-Met).

Mary Lloyd Ireland, M.D., orthopedic surgeon and professor in the department of orthopedics and sports medicine at the University of Kentucky, has been inducted into the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine Hall of Fame at the organization鈥檚 2023 annual meeting, which was held July 13-16 in Washington, D.C.
