T32 Training Grant TRIAD
The University of Kentucky Sanders-Brown Center on Aging is the recipient of a $2 million grant from the National Institute on Aging to train the next generation of dementia researchers. The T32 training grant (T32 AG078110), entitled 鈥淭raining in Translational Research in Alzheimer鈥檚 and Related Dementias鈥 (or TRIAD), is the first Sanders-Brown Center on Aging training grant dedicated to Alzheimer鈥檚 disease and related dementias.
Training for Our Next Generation of Scientists and Clinicians
The emphasis of the grant is on providing cross-disciplinary training from bench to bedside, i.e., spanning the discovery continuum from molecular/biochemical approaches, preclinical translational approaches, and clinical research. The thematic focus is on risk factors for dementia, including cerebrovascular disease, neuroinflammation, acute brain injury, and lifestyle/genetic risk factors. Trainees with diverse research backgrounds beyond standard wet-lab neuroscience, such as bioinformatics, biostatistics, engineering, epidemiology, social sciences, engineering, and community based and human research studies, are strongly encouraged to apply.
Eligibility
Predoctoral applicants must come from either the Integrated Biomedical Sciences (IBS) graduate program or the MD/PhD program in the 91小黄车. There are no restrictions on postdoctoral applicants.
Interested individuals should email either Linda Van Eldik, PhD, Sanders-Brown Center on Aging Director, or Paul Murphy, PhD, Sanders-Brown Center on Aging Associate Director for Education.
We are currently not accepting applications at this time.
